Why are there so many gorgeous FTO's out there for sale, for so cheap?? I'll never understand it...

Why do people have to be so cliche with civics, supras and skylines and not realise how gorgeous FTO's are and what potential FTO's have...

All the better I suppose for us buyers!!

I know whenever I get my FTO, it'll be staying with me till it dies, and that includes whether children are involved or not!! Nothing wrong with being a cool Mum!! lol

FTOs aren't all that dear to buy - which is great.

I suspect insurance has a big part to say - the 2l engine size rules out most boyracers as they tend to stick with the smaller engined hindas and starbos.

Age is another thing that mighht push the price of the FTO down - many people aren't keen on driving a car that says -95-96-97 on the reg - little do they know that if a car is well looked after age doesn't really matter.

The shape of the FTO is timeless - the engine is pretty solid (when serviced as appropriate) - the rest of the car is such that any mechanic should be able to replace/repair any part the might be needed.

All in all the FTO is clearly under-appreciated - except of course - on this site!

One of the main reasons i picked an FTO.

They're a pretty special car alright, quite enigmatic, lots of s3x appeal, women love them! Not many people know what they are. I spent 6 months trying to find a really clean one and then one turned up (car that is!), not exactly what I wanted but I'm really glad I got it and have no regrets. That was 4 years ago. Two things you need in a car, 's3x and violence', it's a friendly gangster of sorts. I'm rambling!

Torque Steer - well it's really an issue if you're expecting it.. I have 18" alloys on but I can still provoke it if I want to - as far as I remember it was slighlty more frequent with the 16" but it's been a while since I had them on so I can't tell you with 100% certainty. It's not a problem anyways - all you need to do is keep your hands on the steering wheel and you'll be fine.

I'm not sure what a gallon is in liters but milage is HIGHLY dependant on your driving style. I've gotten as little as 400km to a tank but that was driving FLATOUT for the duration - Of course this was done on my very long private track. I have also managed to achieve 700and something kilometer to the same amount of petrol by driving like an absolute taxi-driver (OI) for two weeks (I was unemployed at the time see, so I had all the time in the world and not an awful lot of dosh to spend on Petrol!).
with a standard exhaust and no holes in it I'd generally get about 10km to a liter (600km to a tankful) but my driving style is fairly blunt - I'm sure somebody with more finesse and patience can score higher on a regular basis.
It's worth noting btw that if you have holes in your exhaust you milage goes out the window, that applies to any car tho..

Do knackers drive badly in FTO's (dont answer that) It does of course depend on your driving style. Most people here seem to average about 20mpg which isn't bad. I drive hardish depending on the conditions, up and down revs etc and a lot of city center and it's not amazing mpg. On a long trip, Dublin to Kerry and back which is about 660 kms, it costs me about 70 euros give or take. Yep it's cheaper to fly but car parking costs a fortune!
I've personally never had any torque steer problems- Top Gear fan are we?

if im drivin long journeys i can get over 500kms per tank. oh crap short ones (and hittin mivec alot ) ill get about 350-400kms so its not too bad!!

as for torque steer i find sometimes if i drop into third i have to REALLY hold it!!!

Keeping a fairly steady ~45kmpg at the mo... mostly by-pass and country driving (to & from work) these days.

emmmmmmm the last ones were on the car a year!! but i only had it for 5 months of that year. haha!! at that stage the car was in hiding tou cause it wasnt cleared so not many miles done on them!

I calculated that my current oes have approx 7500km on them and they are utterly knackered..however when I stated using them the car wasn't set up AT ALL tracking was out-camper, toe everything was wrong..so yeah they didn't wear even to say the least
