there is no difference in idle speeds from mivec to non mivec 6cil 24v
considering the ac is turned off the idle speed warm is 600-750 rpm (mine is steady at the half of the first RPM division which marks 1000rpm)
and cold it should stabilize after 5 seconds to 1000 rpm without ac on.

but to reach this point i had to replace stepper which was faulty and to set correctly the position sensor so it stays off when acceleration pedal not pressed (the TPS has a position sensor of the pedal(on/off) and a linear potentiometer) see the workshop manual 1 for instruction on how to set the TPS.

reset ECU
then...
do the deed until it blinks.
See the code.

it might be ignition failure, crank angle, etc... all of which is solvable (engine noise might give clues also)

Here you go Danny:

phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9466&p=70147&hilit=tps#p70147

Heres a tip - stick sewing pins through the wires in question and clamp the multimeter probes onto each one, this makes it much easier to get the TPS within tolerance in that you can adjust on the fly.
