wanted: windscreen washer nozzles (black)

Postby giuanz » Wed Jan 28, 2009 8:45 pm

I managed to get a pin stuck and broken inside a nozzle washer. There's no way on earth I can take that out.

This after adding vinegar to the windscreen washer tank, which not only did not serve the purpose of unclogging the limescale, but made my car the smelliest FTO in Ireland.

Yes, I'm that mad/stupid.

So I need some working, unclogged washer nozzles. Hope that replacing them is an easy task.

Anyone got any to send?

Why not just blow it out from the other side with a compressor?

Thanks for the hint, Bernard. That was a good idea.
I tried that now but it wouldn't come out if I just compress air in the other hole. I also tried obstructing the other hole and using the washer pump. I suppose I have to obstruct the other hole, disconnect the jet from the pump and connect the compressor from below the jet.

I might as well replace the jets if they are cheap. It's not urgent so if nobody has them to sell, they will be in my next buy from camskill :)

If you can't get it out with a compressor, I'm sure steelroe would have a few for sale.

Vinegar? Somebodies been watching too much how clean is your house! My bad Laura but you got to admit it's funny, did your cars smell remind you of chips and make you crave them everyday? This is such a thing I would do!

As a matter of fact, after the FTO vinegar experience, I can't have salt & vinegar chips anymore.
I used to love them but now the smell makes me nauseous.
It was funny. I tend to do funny things, consciously or inconsciously :-)

Next time, take the jets off and soak them in vinegar overnight, removal is a 2 min job...
