Dash mods

Postby sinlessgunner » Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:40 pm

Alright lads!

Me again!! Ok I've booked my car in to get the whole suspension system sorted out, everything checked and fixed/replaced as necessary on March 25th and I'm replacing the stepper motor soon and going to pray to God thats the problem!

Then the car wants for nothing except mods! This brings me to my next point..... I want to modify my dash board. Getting rid of the ash tray and cig lighter and I'll put something in there. Colms dials were nice but don't want to be copying him. Thinking of an IPod dock or something like that. Would be ace. I'll see about that....but I want to do something bout the acres of plastic! I hate it....needs something done but can't quite put my finger on it...So I turn to the experts 8)

Anyone want to make suggestions? I can be the guinea pig for work you want to try but are afraid to do!

RB performance have a carbon surround that blanks off the ash tray & ciggy lighter. Looks really clean!

Cut it all out get a portrait 17" touch screen and stick a puter in behind it..

Remove the center airvents and stick climate control box in there..

now there's a challenge ;-)

Challenge indeed, possilbly a bit of overkill tho :?:

I'm thinking about gettin one of the carbon surrounds and mounting a dock for a usb hard drive that I can connect to the head unit.

That way there's no need to have CD/ DVD's floating about in the car.

If I go ahead with this I'll get some pics up!

Actually sounds pretty good.....might look into that!! 17" might be a bit much tho but maybe 10/12"! Deadly. I like the carbon finishes and stuff too but its just all the plastic that I hate. The centre unit isn't that bad its just the blank plastic at the passenger side. Even a cover for the glove box or something to break it up alittle would be nice.
