Can this be right..??

Postby gfalls » Fri Feb 27, 2009 8:32 pm

Filled the tank, drove 378kms, filled it again with 31.13 litres. Worked out the miles per gallon and got just over 34. Never bothered working it out before. Is that a good/bad/average fuel consumption..?? :?
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

I topped mine up this evening, bear in mind I only drove it (hard) for around an hour during the week.

30 quid.

The MPG on FTOs seem to be pretty decent. Even when your putting the foot down a lot. E5 helps a lot and so does the weight of car. They are only 1.1 metric tons. (And an extra 40kg if the auto). That's light for a 2L V6, 200hp car.

Yeah, I would regularly get over 30mpg. But, maybe that was part of the reason she failed the emissions first time. But a bit more "enthusiastic" driving sorted that out.

I never let my tank run dry though. I always fill it about where the needle is in the image and I fill it till it stops pumping, usually somewhere 45 - 50litres. Do you drive yours till the light?
