Realistic import price 95 GPX?

Postby colm_mcm » Sat Nov 11, 2006 10:39 pm

I've been looking on IBCJapan at manual GPX's with a view to importing one next February.
Could anyone throw a figure at me as to how much it should actually cost all in?

My current guess is as well as paying import tax and VRTand all that - I'll be needing to replace 4 tyres, service including Timing belt, fit a stereo, and change the gearbox oil.

What I'm really wondering is: If anyone has brought in a GPX manual, 95-ish, how much was the cost including shipping?

i brought one in of ibc, they are a bit dear to be honest, u cud be looking between 5.5k and 6k including taxes/vrt but that doesnt include ur servicing/tyres etc. If u want to save urself the hassle mine is for sale because i cant afford the insurance (€3800! - 19 yrs old), but i did a full service on it so i wud be looking for around €6500, which includes 3 months tax. Shes a 95 black manual gpx - 70k miles, nice set of alloys too. PM me or give us a call on 0872724672 if u wanna take a look at her. Heres a pic:

not to worry. would've thought they'd cost a bit less than €6,500 to import... gonna sign up to a few more auction sites to get an idea.

well i find ibc are dear, u shud be able to bring one in for 5-5.5 if u look hard. Try the sites on the import guide section of this site, but the auld manual gpxs are hard to come by

I just see on japanusedcar.net that a 95 GPX went for the equivelant of €1,900 (grade 3) add €1,000 (?) for shipping, Customs €290, VAT €670, VRT €1,400.

Total €5,260. Is this figure optimistic?

grade 3 is not a good grade to be honest colm. u really want a grade 4 or 3.5 absolute minimum depending on why its a grade 3.5.
