Flammer Kits - Who fits em'

I have just bought a flammer kit and I was wondering does anyone on here know who would fit one and has anyone ever done this?

I think there is a guy up in Belfast who does them but I dont know the name...

Any help would be much appreciated

It depends on what you bought as a "Flamer Kit"!
Could be you just bought a sparkplug and some wires (DIY Job) or you bought a flamer kit that also controls the fueling or rather interupts the fueling so that it send unburnt petrol back through your exhaust - possibly not ideal if you have a standard exhaust with the Cat still on - wouldn't see much in the way of flames regardless of whether you have a flamer kit there. Works best with a Decat exhaust with as few restrictions as possible. Any half ar5ed mechanic will be able to fit either.

Have to say though that this type of "mod" is really not my cup of tea - but each to their own!

The De-Catted SS quad exhaust I have on my FTO car tends to pop on the overrun which sounds well cool but I'd rather have the car do it naturally than have to add something that would imitate a performance exhaust.

Its not quite as bad as those fake Blow-off valves for naturally aspirated cars though that mimic the sound of a turbo BOV.

Yeah its is a DIY kit that you could do yourself, but im not electrically minded nor would i be confident enough to take on the job myself. The instructions that came with it are very vague. Have asked a few mechanics would they do it and no-one wants to take on the job in case they blow something up . So hence why im asking on here if anyone has done this or would they know someone who would do it..

I have a 3inch stainless steel custom made exhaust straight from the manifold back, completely un-restricted and have a tail piece that you could put 2 closed fists up nearly so i dont have to add anything to imitate a performance exhaust - cause it is one, so it is well fit to blow the flammes out the ar5e of her and I think it will look pretty

No it wasnt my next question - Them fake blow off valves are for people who like to make there cars sound like something there not - I dont have that problem

These kits are more suited to tricked our Corsas if you ask me, the effect is designed to emulate high power turbocharged cars that drink petrol and regularly dump unburnt fuel into the exhaust which is turn ignited by the high temps, not really my cup of tea unless it happens naturally!

The kits normally comprise a spark plug, a bit of wire and a switch, theres not much too them. I can understand why some mechanics would be loath to fit one if burning fuel outside the combustion chamber is involved!

Have a look around the web, theres plenty of info out there ib installing flame kits...

God you guys dont like yout tea . But yeah each to there own..

I know there is going to be a certian amout of risk involved with having to switch off a few of the cylinders
to send the unburnt fuel out the exhaust for it to ignite and doing it manually well its not ideal and I agree it would be better
if it happend naturally but the kit is more just a show piece that will be used every now and again and its something im going to try out.
As the saying goes nothing tried nothing gained.

Your right there is damn all to the kit and i have got info off the net but id rather pay someone who knows exactly what there doing than
attempt it myself and risk damaging my baby - not unless ... You make it sound easy maybe you might like to have a go at fitting it for me .

they do look cool in the dark, but they are illegal on a road car and will have to be removed for the dreaded NCT

Well I dont have to worry about the NCT untill this time next year so the novelty will probably have worn out by then so I wont mind removing it.

Have left my car down this morning with a mechanic to get the under body sealed and I asked him about the kit and he said he is going to have a go at fitting it for me . So all going well I should have done in the next few days!

I got the kit of a freind in dundalk who has had it for a year and half 2years and he just never got round to fitting it so I gave him a few quid for it, so if it doesnt work or is faulty iv lost nothing really
