Handbrake Warning light stays ON

Postby Sebastian » Wed Nov 25, 2009 11:42 pm

Well , noticed this staring a few weeks back but i thought it's just the cold acting on the handbrake cables .

the light stays ON for about 20 mins in the mornings/evenings till the car is ''warm'' , then it turns itself OFF .
i've checked brakeflyuid levels , seem OK , the handbrake cables are not stuck .

Any other ''sensor'' conected to that light (or pads?)

any advice would be great!

Checked the pad levels? (Low pad material can trigger the light). Rear caliper seizure? Handbrake cable over tight?

Simple one - the 'sticking' switch is under the cup holder in the middle console between the seats. A squirt of WD-40 will sort this issue.
