Anyone use these?? Do they work in Ireland?? Any good? I don't really know what they do..but it's a gadget so might get one...

RobJ has one, I'm sure he'll reply as regards functionality. Ireland has been covered by Road Angel for a few months now. You can buy them in Maplin AFAIK (+€500) but you'd be better off buying a second hand one off ebay for £150 or so.

WIth less than 10 fixed cameras (pure guess) would an ordinary radar detector be as good in Ireland , ?
