code 43 and 44!!!

hi there am new to this site, and the info i have had is great,
Anyway have been having gearbox problems, in auto mode and trip mode, it is acting weird in 3rd and 4th gear, but the other gears are fine, so i had a bloke come out and diagnose it, it came up with codes 43 and 44, which said that the 3rd and 4th gear are not specified,or out of synch, and said that i need a new gearbox,
but when i brought the car it had not been used for a while, so on the way driving home it was playing up then but after a good 30 mins into journey it went into 3rd and 4th and was working perfect, stoped at burger king for for 2o mins, and when i set off it was playing up again, and it has not been on the road since because of this problem, but its weird how it was working after a little drive. stumped!!
but 1 more thing to add when i change it in to 3rd and 4th, it will stay fine for a couple of seconds before going into safe mode!,when i put foot on gas its like it sounds like its hunting,
please help as i love this car its my second 1 and not got alot of pennys,. many thanks vinny

Don't know which codes are which but input and output sensors and new ATF fluid might do the trick

Some fault codes listed here.
I'm sure they've been listed on the forum before too, search is your friend...

ive read the fault codes and its saying 3rd and 4th gear not specified, just not sure what that means is it internal or external?

Also my rev counter is not working could this be a clue to the transmission.? thanks guys

hey found problem to no rev counter put a new ifs sensor and boom it works, thanks you guys this site is brilliant
