Back from bodyshop

Postby PT FTO » Sat Jul 23, 2005 1:17 pm

Well, got her back with the new bare ass look. Have a few pics here, have a look and see what you guys think. Not too happy with the colour match though. :( What you think from the pics. Where do I stand with that, can I bring it back and say "here, this dosen't match, take it back and do it again" or what do you suggest :?

I'd say go back to them and get them to paint it again, its fairly noticeable, and it probably cost you enough to get it done.

Where'd you get it done btw.
Isn't it a basic requirement of a bodyshop to match colour  I'd bring it back if it doesn't match perfectly, unless if was a favour or something.

I would definatly take it back and make them do it right i find the front bumper very noticable, and if they don't get it right the second time i would make them respray the whole car at their expence, and if they say no threaten to sue for damage to personal property, There is no way it shold be that noticable, yes a slight subtle difference is nearly a must as the paint on the car is weathered 10 years but not that much of a difference.

:!: :!: :!: Thanks Daz............ It was the boot lid and lip I had done and wanted the comments on. I know the front is slightly off, thats the way it came from Japan, but you didn't have to point it out

I think Daz may have thought that you had the bumper and not the boot resprayed.

The colour match isn't great at all, you would think that a guy who sprays cars for a living would have a better eye for that sort of thing. I've no doubt that he realised it was a different colour as was hoping you wouldn't say anything. Go back and air your grievence and ask nicely that he does the job properly.
