Brake noise

Postby Masa » Tue Jul 01, 2008 12:30 pm

Hi all,

so I sometime ( not always, but it seems to be mainly when the car is cold ) have some high pitch noise coming from the front wheels when I activate the brakes.

It shouldnt be the pads cause :

Hi,
The front and back brakes were all done the week before you got the car. I got it done in Dave Wilson Tyre and Auto Centre in Frankfield. Dunno what the noise is but it shouldn't be the brakes un less one of the pads is loose or something? I'd say make a post under 'Technical Queries' and see if the other lads can identify the problem.

Any idea ? :)

Try a bit of copper grease on the back of the pads and it should do the trick.

Possibly new pads not bedded in properly try driving at 100klm and brake down to about 60 klm.Do this a few times maybe there is a glaze on the face of the pads.O and do this on a safe stretch of road and check your mirrors also
