De-Restricting

Postby zacob » Thu Jan 20, 2005 6:16 pm

On one of the previous posts I see ye mentioned the NCT and the Restricting of the FTO. How do you know if your car is restricted. The reason I'm asking is I bought mine as a Jap import, however I don't think it's restricted. No alarms/sounds ect.

Take it out onto a 'private road', once you hit 121MPH, if its restricted, the limiter kicks in and drops you back down to 112MPH.

I check my limiter regularly in the hope that it will go away on its own

I also find that the limiter cuts in earlier if you're in 4th rather than 5th - though at that stage I'm well off the clock so its hard to say by how much.

If any Gardai are reading this I have a tendency to lie quite a lot.
