EvoScan & touch screen datalogger

Postby kevinod » Tue Aug 11, 2009 10:00 pm

Hey guys,

bought Evoscan a while back, so on the mailing list. It'll connect to the FTO's ECU and check for error codes as well as record stats for you. Got notification today of a new version out (2.6) as well as an interesting sounding touchscreen datalogger / GPS / MP4 player.

FTO is MUT-II standard in case anyone didn't already know. :)

New For EvoScan v2.6
- Now Supports all 2008/2009 EvoX models.
- OpenPort 2.0 is fully supported for MUTII and CAN datalogging.
- OpenPort 2.0 is fully supported for OBDII and MUTII DTC and MUTII Actuators.
- Vista 32bit and Vista 64bit is fully supported.
- Generic OBDII 1996-2005 Datalogging support added for OpenPort 1.3U and OpenPort 2.0 vehicles. this will work with ALL vehicles 1996-2005 (OBDII)
(the government should have mandated Generic OBDII be fast, lol! EvoScan makes it as fast as it can, but OBDII is still a waste of time for Mitsubishi owners, stick with MUTII)
- Added a new checkbox to "Display only selected items" which hides the dataitems you're not logging at that time.
- Some Minor Power graphing enhancements.
- Disabled multithreading by default. (enable this from the logging menu if you want a more responsive UI)
- Removed Evo7/8 rom hex files to decrease the download installer file size.
- Dataitem Editor now works really well, and removed the annoying double click for editing dataitems, now you can use the right click menu to edit dataitems.
- Vista64bit check, and automatic folder permission setting for Vista.
- Supports upwards of 120 samples per second datalogging via CAN for EvoX!
- Supports Vista64bit wideband LC1 serial datalogging.
- Added wideband LC1 Recalibration Feature under the Wideband menu, this Recalibration also sets the LC1 sensor setting to 14.7 (Gasoline) so that the A/F Ratio displays correctly when logging.
- Wideband will now log zeros when the oxygen levels are displayed or when the LC1 device is initializing. Also I have capped the wideband logging at 50 AFR so that it is easier to view the logs on the graphs without the wildly high values after lifting off the accelerator.
- Display Diagnostic Trouble Codes now allows you to specifically select "OBDII DTC" ideal for Evo7/8/9 or MUTII EFI DTC (older pre1997 DTC) ideal for Evo4/5/6.
- Actuator Mode from SAS mode to Speed Adj Srew mode. Tired of your idle not settling very well after the battery is disconnected, now you can set the idle setting screw correctly, and make your car run smoother off throttle.
- Dataitem Priority number now enabled, a value of 2 will mean that the dataitem will only be checked every 2nd cycle, a value of 10 will mean the value will only update once every 10 full cycles.
- MapTracer now auto loads xml file based on bin/hex/rom file.
- MapTracer now displays a border around the cell you have clicked on to easily reference the actual values to the ROM values.
- MapTracer now displays an enhanced tooltip with a column containing the Interpolated Target value based on the ECU ROM file's Actual Load and Actual RPM. This value is what the ecu calculated as the Target Timing or Target AFR was at the time the vehicle was running.
- ChartMin and ChartMax in the data.xml is now used for displaying a second scaled axis on the right hand side. Perfect for Wideband sensor graphing with a scale of 10-16 AFR.

Tips And Tricks:
- Car PC Interface - use "Evoscan.exe /AutoStartDatalogger" to automatically begin logging on PC startup. use "Evoscan.exe /?" to see more options, including auto load graphs, and gauge layouts.

- EvoScan support helpdesk, you can log any discussions or requests at http://www.evoscan.org/helpdesk

- For USB cable drivers either download and install ecuflash or run DPInst.exe for 64bit windows: C:\program files (x86)\EvoScan\EvoScan v2.6\USB Drivers\x64\ or run DPInst.exe for 32bit windows: C:\Program Files\EvoScan\EvoScan v2.6\USB Drivers\x86\

How to identify Cable types:

EvoScan Mitsubishi 2006-2009 CAN Supported Vehicles:
CAN is 16pin OBDII plug with pins 4/5/6/14/16
Use OpenPort 2.0 cable from http://www.limitless.co.nz/cables

EvoScan Mitsubishi 1994-2006 Supported Vehicles:
MUTII is 16pin OBDII plug with pins 1/4/5/7/16
OBDII is 16pin OBDII plug with pins 4/5/7/16
2001+ MUT Reflashing has an additional 12pin plug next to the 16pin, this reflashing 12pin only has one pin in it.
(note some openport cables have 3 wires on the reflash 12plug, 2 wires go no where, are there just for strength, they are obviously functionally only using 1 wire too)
Use OpenPort 1.3U,1.3D, or 1.3R cable from http://www.limitless.co.nz/cables

EvoScan Mitsubishi 1989-1994 Supported Vehicles:
MUTII is 12pin plug with pins 5/6/8

Hybrid 95-99 DSM/3000GT/Eclipse (16Pin)
16pin OBDII plug with pins 4/5/7/16

EvoScan Subaru SSM-I 1989-1998 Supported Vehicles:
SSMI is 9pin plug with pins 2/3/5/9
SSMI is 16pin obdii style plug with pins 4/5/12/13

EvoScan Subaru SSM-II 1998-2006 Supported Vehicles:
SSMII is 16pin OBDII plug with pins 4/5/7/16
