I'm pretty sure my friend has a 1.5 as opposed to 1.6 SIR saloon. that said, Google isn't throwing up any..

Only 1.5 litre Vtec engine in the Civic I can think of is the 97 onwards 1.5LSI which had a 120bhp engine - this vtec was more for economy than performance - but it was a very good engine.

Still though - despite the fact its an excellent car - the Civic doesn't have a very good image these days - theres a lot of heads driving them around and they seem to be a bit of a cop magnet.

My other half has just bought one as a little project!!!

Was advertised on carzone but raging the add has been removed!
It's a 1994 1.6 saloon SIR for sure but I think he through in the word Vetec aswell, I can't be sure I stopped listing when I saw the heap of rust sitting in my drive-way?

Bearing in mind I was totally againt this project! Also the photo's in the advertised were NOT the photo's of the car he bought!!! Origionally there was a body kit on the car but that was removed before Andrew purched it, and there for there are now massive amount's of rust all over the body!

Something onto this, but this is in way better nick then the one he bought!

Oh huge 18in alloy's on it also! You can not lock the wheel full way because they are rubbing. So they'll be fo sale pretty soon, Actually nice alloy's just not on this car.

Ya it's just what's the word I'm looking for "LOVELY!" Like when someone get's a really bad haircut and you have to smile and say oh it's lovely!!!

People he's planning on getting this sprayed next week! The car is past it! I'm going to take picture's of it tomorrow to show how bad it is! He recon's he can order these http://cgi.ebay.ie/HONDA-CIVIC-WIDE-ARC ... dZViewItem to hide the rust!!!

The senser on the thermostat is also gone, and he managed to stab the rad yesterday when is was linging up the line's in the car for a respray! I saw actual tear's in his eye's but he refuses to admit it was a bad buy!!!

He's going to pure serious cash into this which granted is ok with me, as long as the engine is good!!"

Hiding rust is always a false economy. Its still there, lurking underneath, eating away at the rest of the metal. :smt074

If his is a saloon (4 doors) then those wheel arches won't fit.. :wink:

I'm all for project cars to dote over and bring back to health and restore (and generally eat your money in the mean time) and have great respect and admiration for those who do it.... but... you got start with something either in reasonable nick, or else something rare, and TBH, that ticks neither box for me. :roll:
