And the most important one:
Image

Bought her yesterday, gpVr... I'm so bloody giddy you wouldn't believe it... All these years crying out for one... It was meant to be a surprise for tomorrow's meet you see, but with a million people guilt tripping me and giving out about driving her untaxed with guards going to be everywhere etc, I decided to give in and not bring her. So pissed. Sorry :( She's in Limerick though if anyone wants to see her afterwards... :)

A big, HUGE shout out to Bernard and Colm, could NOT have done it without them, :smt023: they ROCK, they were good enough to come up with me and check out the car, I have undying gratitude for them. Also to the bf, who spent 6 hours straight today (while I was in work) polishing her.

I experienced the infamous MIVEC roar MANY times on the motorway last night, oh how it made me giddy... Quite hard getting used to going from an old 1.3, 40 bhp to her! Getting many looks

Mechanically, she's flying, 63K miles, no complaints there. The noise from the induction kit is so amazing I had to up my insurance just to keep it, it was worth it though... The interior needs a bit of tlc but the exterior has drastically improved since polishing. The back window is blacked out which is a bit ghey, since I have a blind spot if a car is close to me (spoiler blocks out the lights and then tint blocks out the rest of it!).

Basically, so happy. :D Still hasn't sunk in. Keep looking out at it and thinking it must be someone else's...

Chat more tomorrow, hope you like her...

Glad to be the first to say congrats, it looks amazing, and I'm delighted for you. I know you've been looking for a while, and if money wasn't an obsticle, thats the exact model Id have, black, mivec, what more could you want? And I'm not even jealous, ok, maybe a little, ok maybe loads!
Yeah, with the day thats in it tomorrow, you're probably asking for trouble without tax, so I don't blame you, but will def be on for having a look at some stage. Could even have a limerick mini-meet to celebrate you getting her road legal!
Enjoy!

Congrats :)

For the tax as you just bought you can't have paid the tax if its due.. So is it a big problem ?

Mine is due till this morning but as I'm waiting for the papers I can't pay it or else I would have done it gladly ^^
You think the guards won't understand and it may be a big problem?

Nope, your man hadn't a clue about us...

Was freshly put on yesterday, after being sent to me about a year ago by Aidan when I was still dreaming... :)

Once I'm road legal I'm well up for it!

Thanks again, just in from scrubbing the interior, spent nearly 3 hours at it, steam cleaned and all. Bernard and Colm know how bad she was, she's a different car now though!!! Can't take pics coz the heavens just opened again like yesterday.

@Colm, btw, my FTO does have ABS. Trust me. :o It's quite good too.

@Bernard, myself and Derek got frikkin air yesterday just after your house, we didn't see that bloody crest till it was too late!

You should try it the other way, any more than 40 and you leave the road!

So, after hours of hard grafting here is the result:
(Trust me, the front seats were not red and the back not black when I started...)

And by the way, if you're ever selling your car, do NOT stick the sign to the window with cellotape.

That makes Laura ANGRY.

Wow! it looks much better than when I saw it last. pity you couldn't bring it to the meet and get the GPvR count up.

To get sellotape off, spray some window cleaner on the glass, then use a flat edge of a stanley blade to gently scrape the tape off, this also works for garage stickers and old tax disc holders, you won't damage the glass. don't do it to a heated rear window though.

Thanks Topcat!

I know Colm, real pity. But big difference eh? At the end of the day though, I got a bad feeling, and I always go on my gut instinct.

Thanks for the info, already done - after I began screaming Derek came out with nail polish remover and a blade. The back cellotape is staying though, for the aforementioned reasons, plus it's tinted so no one will see anyway.
