Heya,

Car is going in for a service soon, whats the best engine oil to use to combat the noisy tappet problem?
Going to get the guy to use that.

P.S - Mustang, who did you use for a serviceman?

I use Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40.
I think its a good balance and its fully synthetic - not cheap but easily available at any Shell station. I always bring my own oil to a service - you just wouldn't know what goes in otherwise.

I used Forte top end treatment, that got rid of the tappet noise for a while. You put it in when you change your oil. Camskill supply it.

Dean I generally did the oil changes myself. However the last change was done by RS autos on the Ennis Rd, the time I was getting the Droplinks and ARB bushes fitted.

I also do it myself and I use Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40... less noise

forte is a v good product-bought me a few months in the evo but betr to change/adjust the tappets for the long term.

Do it yourself, it's very easy ;) And chuck in some Forte Top End treatment - it's really good stuff...

I do the changes my self, but always use forte top end from CAMSKILL
and castrol mag.
