Drainage or alternator?

Postby StewyD32 » Sun Nov 28, 2010 12:13 pm

Can someone tell me what might be the problem.

Since I got the gearbox replaced the car has died twice completely.

The first time the battery was dead but could stick on the headlight etc but wouldn't turn over. Bought a new battery and was fine then.

That was about 3 weeks ago

Now it's dead again couldn't turn on anything except the interior lights.

I only drive it weekends and never seen the battery light coming on, but did notice the voltage wasn't at 14 last week around 10.

I was thinking it was the alternator but I charged the battery and took off the negative and it didn't cut out.
Also the belts are perfect

The only electrics I did were chance the HID system

Any comments appreciated
Could this still be the alternator or something draining it.

bad wiring can cause the power loss .
check alt belt also .

use a power meter to check the battery .
