help finding ecu

Postby power » Fri May 29, 2009 1:11 pm

i went looking for this today, was told it was behind the flare holder in the passenger footwell. the wires with the green plugs on them come in from behind the wheel arch and continue up to the passenger airbag. can't see anything resembling an ecu mounted to the body! am I missing something in these pics? :smt017

Thats exactly where it is in the 1.8 95.
It may be in the center console behind and under the radio (right at the back) if your car is manual (or newer).
Thats where they put the A/T gearbox ECU on the tiptronic cars. if yours is manual the main ECU may be in there...

Which ecu are you looking for? as in the fto there are many! If its the engine ECU you seek, according to the electrical schematics your lookin in the right place i.e. passenger footwell. sorry I cant be of more help as Ive never had call to work at engine ecu. Can only suggest you keep digging

checked last night my car is a 95 GPX tip and the engine ecu is located behind the panel with the flare holder in the passenger footwell, can be seen easily through the gap at corner of panel has green multi plugs in the base.
