I did the same as Crazy. Taped the transformer onto the top of the air con vents in behind the unit and wired the wires to the ashtray just as listed above. I'll post pics tonight when I'll get the full effect.

ok peeps i wired the plasma dials up work perfect. one problem tho. i let the live wire and neutral wire touch each other off the cigarette lighter by mistake and sparked and a bit of smoke apeared. now they wont work. have i blown a fuse or is it much worse

does your cigarette lighter still work? did you short the wires going from the invertor to the dials, or the invertor to the battery?

You can check them with a multi meter ,with a continuity test easy enough

well from what you said happened when you touched live wires off each other it sounds like thats the prob
well thats where I would start and if you find a blown fuse replace it
if it still blows then you might have either sheered cable insulation and its touching metal and getting earthed
or got pinched when replacing centre consol or dial cluster also exposing the metal cores and getting earthed

You will have to remove the fuses to check them, you can get false reading by putting the meter across the fuse while in place. i.e. continuity through some circuits.
