Visiting Ireland

HI, we're thinking of bringing the FTO and family over for a weekend in the summer from Scotland.
Any suggestions of places to go, places to stay or avoid would be great.
I am looking forward to visiting, always wanted to and now the kids are big enough to come over and have a good time so thanks for any help or advice in advance.

depends on how much you're willing to drive, one part of the country that is absolutely lovely is Kenmare, but that's a fair auld drive!!

I expect you've be going the Stranraer to Belfast ferry route? Thw west and south west of the country have plenty of nice scenery, you could head west towards Galway then to Clare and then down throught Clare to Kerry and Cork, it all depends on wether you want to go on a driving holiday or just stick to one or two places.

Thats quick guys, thanks. At the moment we are undecided whether to come over for a week or so or just have two or three long weekends away. Last summer we visited JapFest 2 and then on to Legoland Windsor whihc was 1000 miles in one weekend so distances aint much of a problem when you have an FTO

Giants Causeway is worth a look although bring your raincoat
. its about 60 mls north of Belfast

It's well worth it - Cushendun is a great village to stay at. It is a real picture postcard place with great pubs and food.
If you're up there, the rope bridge is great too. You could do the two in the one day.

Galway - Connemara / Clare - The Burren - Doolin - Fanore / Kerry - Dingle, Kenmare, Ring of Kerry.

Went there last year when I was up that direction for a wedding... always thought it was bigger!
