ooh crap - that's no fun at all..

How are you, sore anywhere?
Did you get all the details - Insurance and such?

The car is fixaxble, doesn't look overly bad..

2 lights
Impactbar, brackets
Bumper
Quite possibly a bit of a pull to the rear of the car as well to straigthen it back up..

Done one the cheap, prolly 1500 all in..
Done properly I'd say 2000, 2500 atleast..but then you're talking new parts and such..

Ah crap man. Thats a pain in the neck (pardon the pun).
Yeah, I hope you got the details, and that you aren't too sore after it?

Not nice at all. Atleast your ok. Had a tip myself yesterday(in my mams focus, a fella hit a guy at a t junction and pushed him out as I was passing. Happened in the estate as well to make it worse. I did the senseable thing and stayed at home today. Luckily enough no damage done he hit the pass back wheel. Had it checked its fine.
I dont understand some people. They see the snow yet still want to drive up your a*$e. I've seen some mad stuff in my time. Remember that pile up on the N7 during the fog last year I think.
You should have seen the traffic around Lucan yesterday, a couple of crashes around the strawberry beds area. I missed most of it but it took one of the lads over an hour and a half to get from Laraghcon to my house. Usually takes 10 mins if even.

I used AJK in lusk when getting a new front bumper. I wanted it done perfectly. They did a great job...highly recommend if your going through an insurance firm..

the lines, the curve, the fit, everything was 100%, and Im extremely picky.

9K!!!! Thats horsesh1t!!!! No way can it cost that much!!! Thats just rip off ireland and greedy garages or else they ont want to touch it!!! If you got the parts from someone else like Seb or steelroe you'd do a good bit of it yourself! In fairness like it wasnt your fault if he crashed into you!!! Chr1st I'm actually raging over that!! Is it any wonder the place is gone to hell??!!

9k! Madness!

If it is written off you could always buy it back from the insurance, transfer the parts you want & sell the rest..

9k, madness indeed. My estimate for what its worth:

Second hand parts: 500 euro max
The services of a decent (and honest) panel beater: 700 euro

Are they going to completely rebuild and repaint the entire car inside and out? Did you get some more quotes?

Someone is taking the p**s here. even with genuine parts it would cost nowhere near that.
Get you insurance money. Buy it bck from insurance and repair it yourself, max I reckon would be 2K. Depends on how bad the rear panel is, maybe take a few pics with the bootlid open.

Cool, they do excellent work, and would've been pricing parts from main dealers, but €9k is a bit much!

Dont mention insurance. A guy on the course I'm doing got €1000ish off his price when the fella found out he was paying, not his insurance and it was a cash job. (not done through the books)
Its worth a go. After all we are in the middle of a recession, and as I was told recently after quoting on a job "you cant charge those prices anymore" (electrical work not panel beating mind you). Whatever quote you get say you've got one cheaper already and is there anyway they could do it for that or cheaper. Tell them you would prefer to do it in their shop as you've had a friend/family member use them and are happy with their work, but if they dont match the price you'll use the other garage.
I have a passenger side rear light cluster if you want. I bought it for €30 off ftolam a while back. You could have it at that price if you like. Or if you have any other bits going a swap if that would suit you better. Save a few quid.

right its not looking good at all brought it to 2 body shops first one said its too much work and he was not intrested second said he would do it but he is booked till april they both said rear quaters will have to be replaced cos they would never get them looking right the price he gave me was a rough estimate he said around five and a half if i get the parts and he will do a full spray for that and fix anything else small dents and stuff and i just spotted my exsaust is broke from the bang aswell so i will say i will just upgrade to a gpx or gpvr seen a nice one for sale hear just wait for the asser now

I still think 5 is way too much. Its replacing a few panels, its not as if its an engine rebuild and installing superchargers and turbos and massive complicated stuff. I'm sure theres someone that can do this much cheaper and just a good.
