Firstly Tommy, welcome to the forums!

Torque controller failure is a common problem with tip gearboxes, especially those that have been mistreated or havn't had regular oil changes (apparently, the blades inside the TC fail and breakdown). You should check the colour of the ATF oil, if its black (normally red), thats an indication that the TC has failed.

Firstly, try and find an autogear box specialist (see Services page on main site) and get a quote for swapping out the torque convertor, buy the TC yourself off someone like Ricerocket (pm RiceRocketUk), it will work out much cheaper. In terms of the labour, it probably won't be cheap, but fitting the TC will be cheaper than a full recon or swapping in a second-hand box.
