Idling Issues

Postby thesaint » Fri Feb 09, 2007 11:31 am

Hi

My fto seems to idle in neutral either too low (cuts out when I engage drive) or way to high (3000rpm!!). It quite bizzarre, one day it's low the next it could be high, never really a happy medium. When it's revving high, it also effects the car while driving... when stopped in drive, I really have to plant my foot on the brake... when I take my foot off the pedal the car nearly accelerates on it's own.

I've considered the stepper motor, but would that effect the car while driving??

In a word, yes. Its the most likely cause, take it off an give it a clean, it will take you half an hour at most.
