Well done, I still remember the feeling of relief when I passed it myself.

Now don't forget to unlearn all those things that you had to do the pass the test :D

Yeah it was a fantastic feeling for me too. I had already decided to get the FTO and wouldn't have been able to if I'd failed!

Yep - I think I can remember that it felt good to get it first time - 18 years ago ;-)

Nice one and congrats. As a matter of interest, did you sit the test in the FTO?

Thats a real interesting question too Mustang!!! I did my test twice in a Xr3i and failed twice (6 years ago). Then did it a week after those failures in my dads 00 golf. I was uncomfortable with the car, but I passed. Hmmm.... Does car perception come into it? I had 17" imolas on the car etc and it did look "boy racer-ish" urgh... :)

My mate did his test last week. He is only driving a while. passed. I reckon the instructors have been told to forget this arbitrary 1 in 2 50% failure rate, and only fail crap drivrs as they need to shift a backlog of 400,000 people in 4 or 5 months!!! Back in the day 50% failed, and while Im sure alot deserved it, I personally felt like a statistic not a bad driver when I failed. still...

Back to the original point by Mustang, when you arrive for your test standing beside a small clean corsa, or an FTO, immediately one of them makes you looks "safer" on the roads. no prizes for guessing. thats just basic psychology or what not. :P

Yea, I suspected that GT94 would not have took the test in his FTO. I know I would not. If I had to re-sit my test in the moring, I'd borrow something more mainstream.
I'd say there is a huge perception issue here -young male driver, performance car -evryting examined with a fine tooth comb, I'd say your chances of passing are inversely proportional to the performance credentials of the car.

I did my test in a Mini. Its a brilliant car to do the test in because its almost impossible to speed in it and three point turns are a sinch.

I thought the same thing hence the corsa. Not gonna turn up in the fto or the gt starlet either it has a loud exhaust and rev meter on the dash not to mention a dump valve thats a bit loud  The overall image and style of your car is a big part of passing in my opinon who would you pass the lad in the Hyundai Coupe with the tinted windows and go faster stripes or the old reliable "at times" corsa
