auto trans fluid

maybe i'm just imagining this ! but my gearbox seems to be changing much quicker between gears since the weather has cooled down ! obviously the fluid maybe thicker in cooler weather, has anyone else noticed this ? is it a symptom of old fluid needing change ? my gpx has only 77,000 km service says change fluid at 100,000 but that seems too long, i bought my fto recently, during that hot spell we had so i realy notice the difference.

It pays to change the ATF every 10k miles or so, the recommended change cycle is much too long in my opinion. The cost of doing this over time is a whole lot less expensive than a new gearbox.

I couldn't agree more..... I changed the gearbox oil on my GS every 2 services (approx 12K miles) and I plan on doing my GR every 10K miles.

Best bet is to change it at max every 10k miles i change my ATF fluid about 4 times a year but then again i do about 35k miles every year, and in my experiences the ATF fluid works best when heated up, so i can't explaine the reason the cold weather is helping ya,
