I'm going to risk sounding ridiculous here and say that I didnt think the back seats can come down. I've never really looked into it in detail but always thought they were stationary where they were. Would be great if I'm wrong though! My speakers are easily accessible through the boot so never needed to move back seats to get at them.

first you need to remove the seat cushion (the part you sit on). this is done by pulling the 2 tabs on the bottom, the cushion should then be removed. you will then see 2 (14mm?) bolts holding the rear of the seat to the body. take these off, then lift the seat-back upwards, it will then unhook from the car.

It'd be no harm to wrap some insulating tape around these hooks as the seat moving around on them whilst the car is moving causes creaks sometimes.

So can you actually fold down the rear seats or is this for removing them?

Nah, this is for removing them. you need to remove the seat to change the speakers.

you want folding seats, buy a Micra :D

They are actually so easy to remove though (probably do it in 90 seconds) that they're as good as fold down - handy if you have a long load to carry !

Could have come in useful to know that when I was moving house before. :)
Least I'll know for the next time.
