lights!

Postby miss-enzo » Sun Nov 02, 2008 6:44 pm

Right so ive a few questions about lights!!!
first off one of the lads was messing around with my HID kit cause he's fittin it next week and we noticed that both my full and dip beams have HB3 bulbs. is one of them not ment to be HB4???

Secondlt is the dims supposed to be in the globe or right under the fulls??? My dims are in the globes and there is some weird kinda set up.... there is no "socket" to plug the bulbs into its just the wires that clip on. is this right??

Thirdly i found a 2 "units" that looks like they could hold a bulb but they are not in anywhere???? they are sitting kinda unser the globes?

Im very confused!!! some someone shed some light maybe???

Could you post a couple of pictures of your kit(s) please?

Yes, normally you would have a HB3 and a HB4. There's not a lot of difference between then though, and a few years back if you search some people found that they could put the HB3 in both sockets and they got better light from them. IIRC it was just a matter of trimming off a tab on the bulb and it fit.

My kit, and I think it's usual, you have the normal bulb connector which feeds power to the ballast, and the ballast provides the power to the bulbs. You've got a little bit of wiring to do that - a wire comes with the kit which goes from the stock wiring to the ballast but effectively ballast is powered by the original wiring, and then powers the bulbs.
