its sorn atm

well its back so fix roof rust, so 1/2 doing that , and a re-trim -seats head liner and dash is out atm, then i have rsr springs and buying up bodykit on the cheap...

mini rebuild its healthy so not a overhaul , then on to "Project 6.5 " (talked about this in the uk site  ) getting the GR to do 0-60 in 6.5 with out a turbo, with full trim
so lighter bonnet etc and n/a tuning

fair bit on my plate to get on with , an save for :'(

Surely a gr isn't a great starting point in that case?

Ah sure if it keeps you busy.

if it was a dog of a gpx it might have less hp than a good gr so no , 20 hp is noting over lighter panel's and good tuning
real good rubber to, 1sec of its time will be cost of a full fto but hay its gona b fun,

A GR is 170 hp though, that's 27hp less than a GPX, work away but there have been plenty people with GRs and tiptronics who put effort into trying to make their car as fast or faster than a manual mivec. With the price of ftos these days it seems like a chronic waste of money, but granted it'll be lots of fun trying.

Have a serious think about the cost implications.
A gpx would be a better foot hold to a project like this.

Mines 6.4 in a gpx.
It wasn't me who did it but I was told not much was done to it, so it could easy be beaten with more weight reductions etc.
Its said to the fastest standard one in ireland timed 8) . Not my words but I'm not going to disagree.

the way to top speed is bhp + gearing + air flow
low 0-60 speed is bhp / kg + gearing + grip
i am holing out that it to look feels stock.

Airbag heavy ?? take it out?
gp is 40kg lighter and 20hp down so difference to 60 is minimal 50-140 mivec has the upper hand .
can drop about 20kg with lighter wheels,

The to do list---------------50% is save or rob a bank tasks
Wheels with good rubber
the bonnet fibreglass (on ebay says from ire?)
c/f boot + c/f spoiler
motors from wing mirrors
fast road track clutch - found place that can do lighter flywheels
short throw gears
cleaned out boot + dump the cd changer , swap sup for a active sub(all done)
relocate the battery to boot (parts on way)
hks spf green (new blue on the way from japland )
custom header and downpipes with straight through to a apexi N1 (got the N1 decat through)
pal in usa has a apexi safcii for me,(payed for still to post)
redo all bushs and arms-lower with springs ,got not fitted

its gona be this time next year before she see light of day ,
