Red FTO

Postby Daz » Mon Jul 18, 2005 1:45 am

Well the time has come for the red FTO to get the treatment, espically since i'll be quiting my job soon i had better get it done now while i can afford to.

The Red FTO went into the bodyshop on saturday, Stage one is the exteriour, it is going to get the facelift front, thats been sitting in my shed the last year and the vR spoiler thats been there 2 years fitted and the whole car is getting resprayed, I can't afford the illusion paint job i was going to get as i don't have 5k (yes you heard right 5k for and illusion paint job....) lying around so its getting resprayed red again. (present red fading common among the passion red FTO's) and its getting the Freaky parts light kits fitted. only thing left then for the exteriour will be an upgrade from the standard alloys, exhaust, and possibly lowering.(to be done when i'm working again)

Stage two the interiour will be started with a few bits and pieces here and there along with the leather interiour from the black one with a few more bits and pieces to be added at a later date, hoping it will be done in the next few weeks will post up pix's upon completion.

Sounds like the start of a big project!

What exactly is an 'illusion' paint job, that flip paint?

Sounds like you've a bit of work ahead of you.

Whats the story re the Freaky light parts - presume these are the fogs and repeaters - do they include angel eyes? Cost?

They do indeed:

I would have gone for this option had I not been on a budget when sticking on the facelift, a lot less hassle with a cooler look IMO.

Fortunatly i have most of the stuff already so it won't be to big.

Yes illusion paint job is more commonly know as a flip its what all the max/fast car mags termed it, but you go into any good bodyshop and they will correct ya and say illusion............. ie. gives the illusion that it can change colour.......... and i just used the term illusion as to me it sound better :)
