I need an induction kit

Hi people can any one help im after a induction kit with pipe work or a cheap inclosed cold air filter can any one point me in the right direction . But cheap tho im not a tight ar$e but my missis is ha ha .

what are your reasons for wanting an induction kit?

Just to try and get some honest power gains got a full hks exhaust from when the car come over on the boat want to dyno it and rev it up but want to put a bmc filter on it but cant afford that filter but want one on for proper ecu remap do you know of any cheap decent filters that work

personally I'm not a believer in induction kits unless you do some proper ducting. I reckon the fans in the rolling road give an induction system an unrealistic advantage over a performance panel filter.

have you got an Apexi Neo or something similar?

The exhaust is hks hi silent power but was looking at apex or hks filter but they will still suck in warm air from engine bay was thinking aem cold intake but so much money tho . But got heat rap and heat proof paint so i can keep intake pipe work as cold as poss

as long as the intake pipework is plastic, you won't need heat tape or anything like that.

I'd get a performance filter with the money.

any good ventilation/ heating supplier will have plastic fleble ducting, way cheaper than getting it from Halfords.

A couple of the lads here have done this. I kept the original airbox and got an ARC intake chamber. I'll be adding some more ducting and a trumpet soon.

Unless you're willing to spend the time to fashion proper CAI ducting, get a performance panel filter instead, the ITG is a good option:

I was thinking of replacing the hole lot but where would i find the arc box .cheers for the link tho for the itg mate expensive for the panel

If you think the ITG is expensive, the ARC chamber won't be in the running

it's performance benefits are dubious enough anyway. I just think it looks cool.

This ARC option is likely to set you back in the region of €250-300 - and all for negligible power gains.

any changes will be of negligible benefit.
It's easy to get into a "ticking the boxes" attitude when modifying cars.
If fitting an induction kit won't have a benefit over a panel filter, why bother?
My car is plenty loud with the setup I have without an induction kit making it louder again.


panel filter and ducting will be the most cost effective option. It won't look as obvious as a big induction kit sitting in your engine bay, but I'm betting it will be just as effective. it depends on why you want one I suppose.

mine is only a 1.8 but i have had a bmc before and found it worked but if thats the best thing for air flow and maybe power i will try that best way is to lern from others

There was an ITG induction kit fitted to my gpx when I bought it but if I was to buy one myself I would go for A k&N 57i kit you can't beat the sound of a k&N IMO.

Once again, HKS or otherwise, don't expect any power gains from it. May sound nice, but that's all it will be likely to get you.

I've witnessed the introduction of a performance filter on an FTO at a rolling road day and have even seen power figures decrease with the filter.
