Guys im tinking of trading in for a golf r a passat but the dealer is only giving me 5k for my car is this too low of a price to accept?

97 version r

I need a 4 door car but dont wana be 'giving' my car too low like

Sell the FTO privately. the trade in figure the dealer gave you contains a discount you would have gotten for a straight deal (1000-1500) so in reality they're offering you 3500 to 4000 for the car.

Sell the FTO, and buy the car straight.

I'm with Colm, private sale all the way. As long as you adverstise it properly and pitch it at the right price, you should have no problem selling.
