hi
my car when idle revs all over the place it wont stay still.
when i bought the car the battery was flat for a while do you think i need a new bat to fix this?

Is your air con turned on? When the air con is turned on the engine revs louder at intervals as its using more power to run the air con, not noticeable in some cars, but in mine for example its a big change in the note coming from the exhaust, might be the same with yours.

It could be a problem with the stepper, it's only five minutes to take it out and give it a clean.
Very easy job, just search for stepper to find out how.

Stepper motor or TPS (throttle position sensor) are the most likely faults, troubleshoot in the order stated.
