135mph by the satnav, which was pretty close to the speedo (give or take 3-4mph) She was still climbing, but I wasn't prepared to push any higher as I'd only had about 4hours driving time in her.

derestricted FTO's

we should do a top 10 over 200km/h :smt104

PS: for your own safety i hope you have proper tyres that are guaranteed over a certain speed

em its sarcasm knowing Seb!! :D

A kinda "Mine is bigger than yours" thing"!!! oooh my cars faster than yours... speed limit is generally 100kph anyway so what does it matter anyway!!

put it this way who knows of a private road where you can get to these speeds??? im gonna take a wild guess and say noone!!!

hence the "FTO-Ireland do not encourage or condone speeding or racing on public roads"

i'll be more inclined to go for the 1/4 mile run!

as FTO's top spead (restricted or derestricted) can be easily beaten by a family saloon on the german autobahn

with a GR you will have an advantage over a GPX in accelaration through the gear ratio of the final drive so unless you find someone who dosnt rev to 8100 even with mivec you might be able to snatch victory

You can doubt me if ya like guys but i saw just over 150mph on my gpx manual on a new road last month :? wont say what one tho lol, it does have mines tuning in it tho and the 0-60mph is bout a half second off most gpx manuals. i may possibly have a feckered speedo but the gps said 153mph and still had weeeeeee bit left (or blow up), it does leave my best mates m3 about 2 lengths behind me and scares the crap outa me at that speed. plus 15-20 mpg is average lol do have fotos of car and engine but dont no how to put them up here. would love proper speed run to confirm tho lol or shame as it may be lol.

Hmm - this talk about top speed is all largely academic. I'm pretty sure my 420bhp Zed could do north of 180mph but I know for sure i will never find out. Top speed runs on public roads is really asking for trouble ( I know I'm no angel myself). You will find out all about the limitations of your car at these speeds and it has the potential for not being pretty.

If you want to set a barometer for the amount of power and grip your FTO has then go on a track day or if you are chasing figures then go to a 1/4 mile event or a rolling road.

I say enough talk about top speed - show me your 1/4 mile slip and your dyno printout and we'll all be much more impressed.

I presume that was on an unopened new road, and you had permission...
It's worth mentioning that FTO Ireland does not condone speeding on public roads.

I always thought my gr was restricted as nothing was done to it before i bought it ever except the not so tasteful alloys on it. My needle climbed past the 180 on the clock so it couldn't go any further, but the revs kept climbing. I stopped soon after. Was thinking the revs go higher a little past 180 then stop as i can't kind a de-restricter.

Restricted FTOs will still pass the 112MPH limit.
As far as I know, it will let you get to about 120 then bring you back to 112 (180KPH).
So it will (for a while anyway) go off the clock.

Yea it was a private road. I'm the first to condone bad drivers and speeders. should have stated in my post it was a private road. sorry guys.
