L plated Steel Silver (well kinda anyway) 95 GPX Manual on a set of mixed tyres on dirty standard 16's - noticed he was missing most of his interior and a rather nasty attempt had been made to fashion some kind of vent into one of his front wings. Other choice mods included a black rear bumper and a big momma twin exit exhaust that looked like it could smuggle in a family of Kasakalbonians. Saw him just tipping out misc interior parts onto the side of the road - but when I approached with my FTO Ireland flyer in hand - he headed off in a cloud of tyre smoke and wheelspin - looked like he was in a hurry!

Holy crap! I was wondering why there was such a racket when you took off on the 1/4 mile. A fella we happened to be chatting to while watching the sprints came up after when we were at the S&S asking about the car, saying he didnt realise there was such a gorgeous noise off them till he heard 'the silver one' on the sprints. Think those 2 buckets you have welded onto the back of your exhausts might explain that!

ROFL! Yeah you're right that exhaust is well loud..

The extra special secret ingrient is actually a really bad fit from the decat pipe to the center pipe..
The exhaust fits fine on a "cat" and is much much quieter... Loud is fun though..

I overtook an unmarked car yesterday - downshifted and all.. yer man was well annoyed with me when he pulled me over.. just got an ear full though..

"If you stay driving like a muppet you wont have that license of yours for long son!"

complete with wagging of finger and all..did promt me to actually replace the hobo-housing exhaust.. if I don't get something else it'll be back at next years event though..

ps. My ears were sore sunday night...

I've actually fitted the man-goose (gander) now - am considering getting a twin-exit rear section made for it - not that I have the bumper with the cut out on anyways..

The mongoose is nice and deep - but somehow it's just not the same.. maybe my constant headaches will go away now though...

if anybody is interest in the hobo-housing exhaust let me know (make an offer)..I'm not putting it in the for sale section as I'm not actively looking to flog it..

I'm a big fan of the quads on Mark's car, both looks and sound. Which model is that?

Does anyone have a Blueflame fitted to theirs, the sound is more important to me than the look TBH.
I'm gonna change the system I have on mine in the new year as I don't like the sound.

I like the look of marks as well it looks very - sensible..now - I'm not known to be a sensible person - I think I'm more suited towards something like the blueflame quad.. also soundwise I do prefer it a tad lairy when I stick my foot down..

ROAR - putputputtelutput..

can me evil but enjoy people scattering when I drive down the street... if they're not happy they should be on my sidewalk in the 1st place.. (*)

(*)this is of course a joke I am a very sensible driver and represent the club in the most appropriate manner possible.

The exhaust on my last FTO had a blueflame quad (as per picture above).
The sound was louder than a normal Mongoose/blueflame single exit but every bit as sweet. I also had a decat on but the more conservative person (granny) may have considered it a bit too loud at higher revs - quite compared to the current set-up on the Zed though - even with the baffles now back in.

Which reminds me - has anyone got videos of the 1/4 mile run?

I have but they're very big files and not the best quality, I'll see if I can shrink them down over the next couple of days...

It's a very impressive looking piece alright. What I'm after is a nice V6 roar under acceleration without the drone I now have at constant speed.
I have an Apexi induction kit, I suspect this may be contributing to the noise. The car passed an NCT 2 months ago, so I don't think there are any leaks in the centre section.

ah ya see this is the problem with a quad exhauts, i wanted the look of a quad (well i was going to do it to the black one before i sold it) and since i had to!!!!! replace mine i said i'd do it this time, but i didn't want to be deffened, so mine has a second back box fitted which is great for motorway cruzing. but still sounds great under foot meet floor situation. :D

I had no problem with drone on the quad blueflame - far less than I had previously on a single exit RSR. The Quad blueflame is a good quality exhaust - has a couple of resonators plus of course the backbox to keep the hisses, pops and drones to a minimum.

Do you know anyone else with the same system MfFTO? Or where is yours now?
I'd love to hear it before I make a decision.

Check out the 1/4 mile runs from last year then - I'm the 2nd car running - remember the camera is quite a distance back from the car - but as you can see its not an intrusive exhaust - but does sound sweet.
I was running a decat blueflame quad - the white GpvR (JayVR) running after me was running a catted blueflame quad.

http://www.fto-ireland.com/forum/phpBB2 ... t=limerick

if you want to hear it in the flesh - you'll have to come to Clare and see JayVr's FTO.
