Well browsing at the moment.
Seems as if Southern cars are alot dearer than that compared to UK cars
I guess the VRT has something to do with that

Secondlly I like your style straight in for the top model.. thou not the top spec (GPX) but i will admit if i ever contemplate selling this one and bying myself yet another FTO a GPvR is the one i'd probably buy. hope you find the right one soon.

I thought I wanted a GPvR before I had driven it and the GPX. The idea of the LSD and the kudos of being the equivelant of a Type R appealed. However, having driven both models, I preferred the extras the GPX had, and found the GPvR a bit too noisy and basic inside for my liking.
My advice would be to drive all the models and see which one suits you best.

what extra bits does the GPX have?

GPX gets extra sound insulation in the cabin, it also gets climate control as opposed to manual air conditioning. The GPvR also doesn't get the electric folding mirrors, one of the coolect features of the FTO. I also think there are differences in someof the interior trimmings.
On the other hand, the GPvR has coloured seats (red or blue), a limited slip diff, and is lighter. So if you want the hardcore version, then the GPvR is the one to get (at the expense of comfort and equipment and I suppose price!)

Gonna wire mine into the alarm.
OP - drive the 2.0 MIVEC and non MIVEC, see if you're the kinda driver that wil actually use the high revs the MIVEC gives you.

I'd still recommend you drive a good few before you decide!
It will also allow you to spot problems on any cars you go to see as you can compare.

Just buy the cleanest example of a manual GPX or manual GPvR you can find - end of.
If you have to make a decision then go for the model with the HIDs, LSD and better trimmed seats - The GPvR.
