FTO H Braces Question

Postby Mitsubishi-Mental » Wed Jan 19, 2011 12:14 am

Well lads, have another question :smt003

Been looking around for H braces for the FTO

and i remembered someone saying the Cusco H brace on camskill for the 1.6 Mirage fits the FTO? can anyone confirm this as im not sure, i know some parts fit both cars

Also are the DE2A and DE3A braces the same fitment?

cheers all,
Dave

I can't say if it will fit or not.
Be wary of it though, I had one on my car until the combination of lowering and bad roads removed it...

I've had one before on the 1.6 mivec, and it took a battering alright, but it was one of the best mods i ever did, saved my oil sump ha ha and my mivec engagement :nwor

did you find it improved handling at all?
do any damage wen it came off?

It was on the car when I bought it but I haven't found any difference to the handling since it's been gone.
That said, the car is pretty stiff anyway between the coilovers and the strut braces.

Thankfully there was no damage done. It didn't come off completely just snapped on one side so I was able to take it off later.

The main reason i had one was as a protective gaurd to the sump, in the 1.6 mivecs, any small dent on the sump pan would cause mivec not to engage, such a common problem and a real pain in the balls, just out of interest i found this on RHD Japan http://www.rhdjapan.com/cusco-lower-arm-bar-version-i-front-mitsubishi-61531 according to their fitment, it fits Colts, Lancers and FTO DE3A and DE2A?

the H strut bars are too tight and can touch the exhaust , that was one of the reasons i took mine off. too much vibration.

I'm sticking with the front and rear strut bars
