Can’t get into car after battery dying

Hi All

I have a wee problem. The battery died in my car so the remote locking is not working.

The car does not have any door locks so I cant use the key.

It was suggested on another forum to connect 12v to the rear number plate light but I'm not sure if this will work or cause damage.


Any ideas what I can do ?

Did you try the key in the lock? Worked for me..

Oh you bought that one.. i went to see it when it was in limerick.. it would be a seriously nice car with bit spent on the bodywork.. also he said something like you have to lock, unlock, lock and unlock it again to open the doors? i dunno lol.. i thought the original flare was pretty cool too!

The bodywork is in good nick apart from a crack on the front bumper. The rest of the car is fine.

The suspension needs a lot of work before the NCT and a few other bits underneath. The exhaust is another area that needs sorting.

I got it up on a ramp as John suggested and luckily its totally rust free

Nope , not going at it till next week as the car is going to the mechanic to get things fixed.Thanks to pm's received I know what to do so hopefully I'll get it moving again.
