Immobiliser Install

Chaps - anyone out there any experience in installing alarms or immobilisers ? I'm sure the electrics are probably simple enough, so I am keen to uninstall an immobiliser that I have in place. I'm sure this is probably something simple spliced into the ignition circuit and have located the various alarm / immobiliser components under the dash, however I am finding it difficult to see what is connected to what, and which parts are the original car versus the alarm and/or immobiliser components themselves.

Any basic advice welcomed.

Bump - anyone know where the alarm is normally spliced into the system. Is this normally done by accessing the loom through the engine bay, or does the install normally take place by accessing the loom up under / behind the dash?

I have come to the conclusion that I really need to get my immobiliser taken out and would like to give this a go myself.
