Funky Styling

Postby declanc » Wed May 18, 2005 9:26 am

I recently emailed Funky Styling about shipping costs for a Bozz Speed front bumper to Dublin and this is what I got back:

Hi there
We get these sent out direct from the supplier. We've asked them for
a quote but after all this time they simply said they cannot ship
these outwith the UK mainland.
Sorry about that.
Cheers
Chris

whats the deal with that :x
I thought some of you lads got body parts shipped over?
Anybody shed any light on this.

Cheers lads.

They prob just don't want the responsibility if anything happened to them on the way, you could prob get DHL or whoever to collect and bring it back for you?

FP have sent my Top Mix Front Splitter to me previously and I am presently waiting on my DC side skirts to get in - they are being sent by courier direct from the FP supplier so I don't know what the issue would be about a Bozz Speed front as I'd imagine its very likely to be the same supplier thats moulding the Bozz Speed as the DC skirts. :?:

Declan, it sounds like they're not too pushed with the sale, get onto them and ask if there is a local courier in their area who you could deal with directly with regard to shipping. Personally, I think this is a case of bad customer service, they should at least give you the option of another courier, even if they are more expensive.

I think it probably is a case of Chris being up to his neck in business. He sent me a strut brace last week by accident instead of my side skirts and let me have it for free rather than arrange to have it sent back - Yipee! - I've got a load of other stuff off him over the past week as well so he doesn't have any problem delivering to Ireland - I'd imagine the hassle of shipping fibreglass bodykits to Ireland and the exposure to damage they will have along the way is probably the biggest factor here.

Yeah I must say I was pretty dissapointed and shocked with the reply, but I will get back on to him and see what the deal is if I got it delivered myself. I'll let you's know the outcome!

I had a very similar problem when looking for a Version R spoiler from the UK companies - though Japco did finally agree to send the spoiler if I arranged my own courier.

Mention the Irish FTO website to him Declan - he already knows he gets business from this site.

I personally don't think you should be able to pick and choose your business - If you can send an induction kit etc by courier then you can send a spoiler. The buyer pays for the relevant delivery cost in any case.

Funky Product may be becoming victims of their own success though they're not on their own in this regard.
