Steam/smoke from the exhaust

Postby Big Dogg » Sun Apr 13, 2008 6:09 pm

Hey fellas... I've only had my FTO a week or so, but I've noticed smoke/steam from the exhaust still continues for about a minute after I've turned the engine off in the car. But it's been pretty cold and rainy up here the past few days, so I'm not sure if that's to blame. Fuel consumption doesn't seem to be out of the ordinary or anything (about 25 mpg average with my heavy foot lol) and the car seems to be running dead on... Should I worry about this? Or do these cars just emit a bit more than your average car?

Also, the smoke dissappears just as quick as any other petrol car...

Lol! I must admit, it does look pretty cool - bit like a smoking gun barrel lol.

I've only noticed that once
Nearly had a sh*t attack, I thought I'd left the engine running.

Went away after a few minutes and haven't seen it since.

Could've been due to high humidity and more water than normal forming in the cat?

it's prolly just condensation steam..

the best cure is a good proper hard drive with the revs way up to make sure the exhaust is heated up to a proper high temp :-)
