anyone know where i might pick up an engine for a 95 gr.
seems to be cheeper to buy 1 instead of fixing her up

You could try one of these or go here and put in your details. You'll get a few decent offers.

Are you serious here. Engines blow every day even the best maintained engine can fail.

When I rang IVI they told me they couldn't get their hands on an FTO engine. That would have been so much easier... Definitely give them a try.

An engine could break for an infinte number of reasons, particularly on an old, high-mileage car.

I believe mine died because it overheated on the M1 when the thermostat went.

IVI will charge you at least €2500 for an engine fitted.

As regards engine failure, parts fail, age of engine, metal fatigue. Fact of life engines can fail no matter how well they are maintained.

But its money well spent, they fully service the engine with new water pump timing belt gear box gaskets the works and you get a 3month warranty and plus it saves you the hassle of trying to source an engine and then trying to get somone else to fit it.

Totally over priced if you ask me.
You can buy an engine for anywhere between 600-1200 as wildhound has shown. Pump and timing belt are not expensive. And most breakers will stand over the engine for 2 months.

I also have found IVI difficult to deal with in the past.

Just my personal opinion though

Tommy

Make sure you read the entire terms and conditions of the ebay auctions. I believe MDKL say bad feedback will invalidate your warranty. So if you go and say the engine was crap they will not replace it. Be very cautious.
I believe there are a few GR engines floating around ireland.

Give me a call and I will give you details where to get one.

Try Traynors up in Armagh 048 3889 1242.

I was up there a few weeks ago and they had a few crashed FTO'S so they might have an engine.

I also found Gary in BS Parts a bit unhelpful. 3 Days is ridiculous, christ you might not even have it installed in that length of time. Deffo leave it after you
