my fto

Postby stufoz » Mon Jun 09, 2008 4:56 pm

thanks for the welcome all , i will post some pics of the fto for you... but i must warn you first, i bought it off ebay for 700 quid with "engine management fault"
on closer inspection it had aftermarket air filter fitted ... i changed this back to a standard one an the engine fault light went out!
secondly , on firing it up, it cut out straight away! i checked , and there is an 80 amp inline fuse that needed replacing, so i replaced it and hey presto.. ran perfect! the paintwork has faded badly in places but other than that it's a great car... which brings me a new question to pester you all with.....
i am trying to find some info about the car reg no n751 fak................
1 or 2 things that are puzzling me is according to many fto sites a lot of standard equipment is missing on mine.... such as folding mirrors.. airbag........ momo steering wheel however mine is the 2.0 litre mivec with tiptronic gearbox which makes me think it shoulkd have come with a few more toys as standard........?
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi stufoz, welcome from another newbie.

I checked your reg on www.dvla.gov.uk and got this info:

1996 Red Petrol 1800cc.

Presumably its had a 2litre stuck in without telling anyone for lower tax or whatever reason but it is/was a GS at some stage in its life, hence the lack of toys that would be found on a GR/GPX.

Hope that helps

thanks very much uncle b...... was a tad confused cos it has the same engine number in as the day it was imported.... maybe it was in from the minute it was on the boat?!!!!! a friend of mine had a subaru impreza strraight off the boat and when he went to insure it , it had been imported as a 2.0 litre non turbo when infact it was an sti!
