Sh1te - And to think its only a couple of months since we were moaning about super unleaded being this expensive - now we have to pay these prices for 95!

the knock on effects of this is going to be crazy!

20% inflation in one year on oil/petrol!
and they say Ireland had the one of lowest inflation rates in Europe! i think not!

on the radio, just out at the bank there and only caught the end of it, texeco i think basically said you should fill up tonight because should escalate to an average of €1.20 by tomorrow or the end of the week at the latest!

Why do people do that? Like, your only going to save yourself about a euro or something!! My Dad is the first to rush out & get his bloody micra filled up before a price rise!

Just read on www.vage.ie that texaco have put their prices up - €1.21c a litre of unleaded!!!

I think we're getting into scary territory now!

Apparently (from news this morning) Texaco contacted their stations and recommended to them to put the prices upt o 1.21! None of the other petrol companies seemed to know much about it.

F...... madness, this keeps up you'd have to seriously consider buying the most economical car on the market!

Toyota Hybrid isn't supposed to be much more economical than anything else, most small cars are supposed to be better. Plus they're supposed to be rubbish to drive!

Smart Roadster could be the way to go alright!

apparently it should still do 55mpg - don't quote me on that though...

believe it or not but my mpg seems to have improved slightly since I got my gti done...

Mapping not eating your mpg though is pretty cool... manuf maps must be way off... although I have been told that the exact same engine can be sold in 2 VWs, with each being quoted with different BHPs, despite the fact that they may not! All marketing supposedly!

Shows what a great job Mitsi did on the FTO! If only they had a small bit more business sense they wouldn't be in financial difficulties.

The VAG 1.8T engine in the 150bhp mk4 gti is identical to the 1.8T in the 180bhp TT, the 150/163/180bhp A4, and the 180bhp Leon Turbo.

Also the only diff between the mk4's 1.8T and the 225bhp TT, S3and Leon Cupra is the golf has a smaller turob and 1 less intercooler.

So VAG have been very efficient with their 1.8 block

Seems like its going to be a rough ride for performance car owners, The only way to take advantage of the rising prices is to buy shares in an oil company! Look at statoils share price and the price of a barrel of oil and see the similarities. Top one is statoil.
