Sorry - I thought from your signature that you were actually running an actual retail store where your products can be purchased. Didn't realise that this is your home.

Tomeck was kind enough to drop some red tint film over to me during the week, I fitted it during the week. Fitting is reasonably straightforward:

After removing the light units, I washed them with soapy water and stuck them on the radiator to dry / heat up. I removed the raised writing with a sharp Stanley blade in advance. I didn't need to use the hairdryer on the film until I got to the angled section of the reverse light, it can be a bit tricky to get the film to fit, some persausion and adequate heat is required. I did get some air bubbles, I later removed them by using the blade to prick the surface and then pushed the air out by hand. After trimming around the sides with the blade, I used more heat to cure the film to avoid peeling.

I'm very happy with the result, its pretty seamless looking and really suits a red FTO in terms of providing a more blended look at the rear. The only downside is the indicators flash red, as do the reverse lights (a lot more so than if you used tint spray). With respect to the NCT, I would bear this in mind if you're considering this mod (this shouldn't be an issue with black tint film). Luminosity levels remain unaffected.

Would putting orange bulbs in make them flash orange? Or would they be more purple? Mix orange and red paint and it goes purple?...just a thought.. :smt017
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Eh no - this would probably make things worse.

Looks great CJ. Covering the reverse lights makes it look much better also.

Red and blue makes purple. Red and orange makes... A redder shade of orange.

Mitsumaniac wrote:Hi all.

I`ve got a black tinting film for tinting your tail-lights, side/front indicators.
What you get is 2 pieces of film, 25cm x 60cm each, which is more than enough to tint both tail-lamps.

You have to spend about 30 mins on 1 light to have it done correctly but it`s realy easy process as it`s a simply "sticker"... not like windows tinting. It becomes very plastic under heat treatment which is very helpful on some difficult shapes. FTO lights are very simple to do tho...

There are more colors available (red, green, blue) But i`d have to get a minimul of 5 orders of one colour due to postage costs and it`ll take me about 10 days to receive it.

Remember, this is special film for tinting tail-lghts. You can use it for indicators as well but not for windows. It`s too thick and doesn`t have "100% clear" transparency.
If you get the pics from Limerick 2007 I also had my lights tinted on my silver FTO. Was parked beside Colm`s, at the end. I even passed NCT with this film on it, so I can say it`s road legal :)

So anyway I intend to sell it on eBay for about 12-13 euro or directly to club members for 10e. There will be a piece big enough to cover 2 lights and side indicators.
Can post it by Post, but it`s an additional cost of 2.50e. In this case PM me and we can discuss payment details (PayPal, Bank transfer)
If someone is interested just let me know :)

See some pictures of my car during and after tinting:
