Its a good mod if done properly and within correct tolerances. It basically increases the CC of the engine. That particular block is a 4 cylinder - 16 valve unit - IMO somewhere between 1600-2000cc - a 1mm extra bore would add maybe 10bhp extra(def no more than 15bhp dependant on engine) - not exactly a massive increase but as part of a package of mods it all adds up.

Used to be a popular mod on mopeds back in denmark.. :-)

Sometime you'd just fit a larger cylinder, piston and top on there instead though..much less work.. Mine was able to do 85-90kmph...wroum! or rather "Peeeeeiiit PEeeeeeit Putputpuut splutter"

I agree with myfecking though - it's A LOT of work - something I'd only consider if I had a spare motor sitting about - or say I was upgrading to forged pistons and the price difference was ok.. of course you'd only really be doing that if you're adding a turbo or something similar - and that'll then give you the main increase in power.

There are lots of other mods I'd do before "boring" - but yes - it does give gains if it's done right.. If it's not done right it can cause some very expensive problems..
