Exhaust query

Postby bigkayy » Mon Apr 21, 2008 1:18 am

Guys, I've been contemplating of changing my stock exhaust system to an aftermarket one lately, now I got my mind made up, am gonna go for it but the question is which should I go for, I really like the sound of 5zigen but learnt that it needs a bit surgery to fit on non-Mivec, now options are Blueflame or Mongoose, any other 1?.which aftermarket exhaust provide more powergain?
Modding is an addiction, the best way out is not starting.

My 5zigen exhaust http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqKG51ZTLp8

It sounds meatier/deeper now since I removed the CAT about 8 months ago. but its fine if you want to cruise along in relative silence... No boom etc. but great sound when under load and accelerating. I think the mongoose is quiet enough?

Mongoose is in my experience the quitest aftermarket exhaust.
The Blueflame and esp the Quad Blueflame has the best balance in terms of sound without sounding too loud.
The large bore exhausts like the RSR/5Zigen etc are all much louder and will attract too much attention IMO (Says he with a loud ass RSR).

Don't get caught up in the whole " what will give best power gain" arguement. Its not likely to make much of a difference as long as you buy a quality system like any of the above. Make your decision based on looks and sound.
