Postby paul2508 » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:46 pm

i know its a common problem wit the fto's but my wheels are rubbin and wondering is It an issue within the nct test. I hav 225's on her at the moment. I'm just worried they'll turn the car and hear that awful sound. Cheers

Im guessing your car is lowered as well?
I think the best option would be 215. I don't think it'll an issue unless your ripping the arch liner to pieces and ruining your tyres
If I were you I'd pull back your arch liners a little and that would take care of that. If it's actually rubbing of your arches ya should get 215s or roll the arches.

It has something to do with the offset also .
check that , you might need spacers ?

I'm not sure if it's a problem @ the nct , but they will fail you if the wheel plastic arches are ripped/very damaged .

Have you considered larger spacers?

hav 20mm spacers fitted . You can see the tyre hittin the arch liner when wheels are locked. I'm sure 215's would really help.

Fair enough, wouldn't really want to go over 20mm in the spacer department...

I wouldn't have a clue Paul. I think you need a special machine to do it properly.
When I got my spacers etc and had some rubbing someone to me to get a metal bar jam it in and apply pressure to the arch and go at it. Not going to name any names as their on this site..... Richard

No No No....THATS ALL WRONG. You need an over sized angle grinder for these delicate jobs. No arches = no rubbing
