just went up to rob from DTAS today, and got myself 4 new VREDESTEIN SPORTS. jesus they make such a difference.
rob was very sound, great place they have up there.
got me tracking done too and the car is running so much better.
i would recommend everyone to go there.

not really, the sportrac is still a very good tyre, not too unsimilar to the ultrac.

They're a middle of the road tyres AFAIK, give Rob a call in DTAS to see what he can do you in that size. Otherwise, the price seems reasobale for 18s.

they're alright, nothing to write home about, i've yet to find a tyre that i'm really pleased with, in the dry they stick like glue, even with the amount of wear i have but in the wet they aren't too hot!!
nice thread pattern though!

Not actually sure if they are the ZZ3s..Alittle bit frustrating shopping for tires in the North through a middle man..

Kinda thinking I might be ording the eagles of eiretyres.com and then get DTAS to do fitting balance & tracking for me..

Eagles are 165e per corner

If getting F1 Eagles make sure they are GSD3's - the GSD2's are still a fine tyre but GSD3's are a significant improvement.

Not sure how a Tyre centre would feel about fitting tyres you didn't buy off them - it may be a false economy if you end up paying the same when you factor in fitting/balancing/tracking costs - I'm sure DTAS would throw this in if pushed for a competitive quote. Ring them - give them the price you've been quoted - and if they're in the right ballpark - go with them.

See if you can get a price on Bridgestone S03's - they are in a run-out phase at the moment (replaced by RE050) and there may be good value available - I got a savage price on these last year - stickiest tyres I've yet had on a car.

3 stickiest tyres I've run over the past few years:

1: Bridgestone S03
2: Pirelli P Zero Nero
3: Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3

Also ran Pirelli P7000's / Various Bridgestones / Michelin / Goodyear Eagle GSD2's/ Federal / Continental Sport Contacts etc but the above 3 stand head and shoulders above the rest for me.

Aye...didn't buy an fto to be comfy.. will probably have to rethink my route to work though..a lot of pot holes on my current route...would prolly kill my rims & my back...

i'd check to see if you could get away with a 40profile on there, that's what i've got, looks better in my opinion, granted i do get some rubbing!! but mine is lowered and i've just got some KYB's on there as well which didn't help....

Think long and hard about this one Maud, ride quality goes out the window on 18's (IME), espcially if its lowered. I know some of the roads around were you live and I would hate to try and navigate them with an inch or so of rubber on the rims! It might not be an issue now but theres a chance you'll be regretting the 18's decision in the future!

and from a pure visual point of view if just think lower profile tires look better..

If the backroads prove too much for me there is an alternative route from my house..I actually took it this morning although its +5km longer it's actually slightly faster..all straight...

- Oh and the stickers wont be on the wheels...

Sadly she's not lowered yet - but it's in the pipeline... will happen fairly sharpish... Will probably be looking "syncro styleee" for a month or so..

Don't fit 35 profile tyres just for looks Muad - IMO you'd be better off with 40 profile (if they'll fit) as it will fill out the arches more. This is especially the case on an FTO - most other cars (with smaller arches) suit the lower profile tyres - but first you have to fill the arches - I ran 215/40 17's but changed to 215/45 17's - it looked much better cause there was even less of a gap between the tyre and arch and was also much more comfortable - you may regret running a 35 profile esp after you meet your first pothole.

What width are the alloys - 7", 7.5" or 8"??? If you can fit a 225/40 then this is what you really should be thinking about. What offset did you get them in?

Same here, the 45 profile looks a lot meatier and filled out the arches nicely, that said, I had to do some surgery on the wheel arches to minimise scubbage.
