Newish FTO's

Has anyone tried importing a newer FTO themselves or in association with a dealer. I am keen to look at importing a 2000 face lift GPvR.


Any info greatly appreciated.

I'm looking into this myself. When I'm not being so lazy I'm going to ring jim rock imports.

Yea, this post got me thinking of the same given my recent TIP box trouble so I called Jim Rocks and he reckons imports have gone very expensive. I asked him what we'd be talking about for a 98 or 99 GPX manual and he answered by saying he sold a, in Janurary, a 1997 GPX manual for €15,000 and made no money on it at all. So that seems to be a very expensive way to go.

pity this isn't reflected in the second hand prices over here - actually, not many FTO's for sale at the moment.

15 grand is MAD money for a 97, a 95 GPX is in the 7-8 grand region, why someone would want to spend and extra 7 GRAND on a 97 is beyond me...

I'm in total agreement here...... if that's the case I'll settle for a nice manual '95 GPX (prefereably in black or red)

I actually got mine from Jim Rock. He has just joined up with A&F Imports which is to do with the guy Art in there. It hink most of their imports now are bought at auction and Art doesn't seem to deal with the English market that much anymore.

With regards that GPX manual, Jim was selling a '97 tip GR/GX not sure but it was a 2.0 (non-mivec) for €11,995. There was a manual elsewhere for €15k. The tip had 27k miles on it and was in great cond. Nice facelift and it looked very nice indeed, black.

If you're looking for something like that, better to look out for a garage who have got one in, like this case as it was bought off someone in the country.

Importing yourself seems a lot of hassle.
